Walking with a Purpose Cultural Exchange Group
On October 16, in the gorgeous fall sun, 12 diplomats and one volunteer headed out to the Great Falls area on the Maryland side. This time, we split into groups. Some walked a part of the strenuous section of the Billy Goat Trail; some walked to the overpass of the falls. Both ways, we enjoyed nature, spotted some turtles basking in the sun and a great blue heron standing watchful and proud in the waters. When we walk, we find it easy to strike up conversations with the different people in the group while learning about each others’ cultures. It’s a good way to make new friends and get a deeper connection to your old friends.
